Obituary:
John O. Bellamy, Jr., age 63, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord and his beloved wife, Saturday, February 20th, 2010 at Wooster Community Hospital, where he was surrounded by his loving family. Services will be Friday, February 26th, 12:30 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating followed by interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to services (11:30 - 12:30) at the funeral home. John was born on June 4, 1946 in Johnson City, Tenn. to John O. Sr. and H. Winona (Creighton) Bellamy and has lived in the Wooster area for most of his life. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict from June 24, 1963 - April 26, 1965. He married Carol S. Carnahan on January 18, 1969 in Georgia. She went home to be with the Lord on January 27, 2010 in Wooster. He previously worked for Pro Fab for many years and was a devoted father who enjoyed all of his family throughout the years and especially his grandchildren. He was a member of West Hill Baptist Church where he and his wife served as Sunday School teachers. He loved to study the bible and especially prophecy; he enjoyed watching movies especially old westerns and was a collector of eagles.He is survived by sons, David (Michele) Brooks and John O. (Denise) Bellamy, III all of Wooster; daughters, Jada Bellamy and her fiance Doug Hersh of Orrville, Martha (David) Cottrell and Amanda (Steven) Hofstetter both of Wooster; grandchildren, Ryan, Stephanie, Justin, Mason, Kaylee and Oscar; a great-granddaughter; a brother, Samuel M. Bellamy, Sr. of Silver springs, FL.; beloved Aunt and Uncle Russell and Nancy Henry of Wooster; an Aunt Francis Hirst of Deltona, Fl. and a cousin, David Bellamy of Wooster. In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he is preceded in death by his "mom" Martha "Effie" Bellamy.
