Myers, age 88, of Wooster, went peacefully home to be with the Lord, Friday at her residence where she was surrounded by her loving family following a lengthy illness. Services will be Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Eric Fairhurst officiating followed by interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Wooster. Visitation will be Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A memorial service will also take place at New Hope Baptist Church in Sylva, N.C. at a later date. She was born on August 7, 1921 in Caney Fork in Jackson County, N.C. to Thad R. and Bettie M. (Lovedahl) Brown and moved from Akron to Wooster in 1949. She married Glenn Myers in 1946 in Georgia. He went home to be with the Lord in 1995. She worked as an Office Clerk for the AAA in Wooster for 18 years before retiring in 1981. She was a member of Wooster Grace Brethren Church where she and her husband also served in many capacities and especially as faithful children s Sunday School teachers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter, Glenda K. (Richard) Shilling of Wooster; 2 grandchildren, Richard "Rick" (Wanda) Shilling and Karin J. (Rob) Ecker and a great-granddaughter, Stefanie Ecker all of Wooster; a sister, Betty "Jean" Ashe of Sylva, N.C.; sisters in law,Fannie Reece of Clinton, Ohio and Etta (Dan) Bray of Michigan. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Kenneth W. Myers; 6 brothers and a sister.
