John K. Flessel, age 72, of Wooster, entered into rest, Friday, July 23rd, 2010 at Glendora Health Care Center in Wooster where he was surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be Tuesday, July 27th from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster.
A private family celebration of his life will take place at a later date.

John was born on March 28, 1938 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Karl J. and Evelyn (Bunce) Flessel and has been a Wooster resident since 1965.
He graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y. with a Bachelors Degree. He then moved to Wooster and worked for the O.A.R.D.C. (Ohio Agricultural Research and Developmental Center) as an Entomologist for 30 years before retiring as Emeritus Faculty in 1995.
He was past member of Izaak Walton League; for many years played with golf leagues at the Mohican Golf Course; For over 50 years, was privileged to serve as Lifetime Blood Donor through the American Red Cross; was an avid golfer; enjoyed fishing and gardening. Throughout the years he most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his 3 daughters, Natalie (Rory) Richardson, Amy Flessel and Roxanne Flessel all of the Wooster area; grandchildren, Ryne Richardson , Naya and Montana Janis all of Wooster; and a brother, Walter Malcolm Flessel of Long Island, N.Y.; his former spouse, Carol Lengler Young of Wooster.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for John in so many capacities which includes: Sunrise Assisted Living, Glendora Health Care Center and Hospice and Palliative Care of Greater Wayne County.
