Obituary for Charles "Chuck" Paxton

Charles "Chuck" Paxton, Jr. , age 58, of Wooster, entered into rest, Monday, October 3, 2016 at Wooster Community Hospital following a lengthy illness.

He was born on January 1, 1958 in Cleveland, Oh. and served in the U.S. Army from June, 1977 - April, 1979. While serving in the Army, he received the following decorations and medals: Rifle M/b, E. Qual, Bod, Hand Grenade Qual Bod where he was trained at Fort Knox, Ky. He also had training while in Ft. Jackson, S.C. with Co. B, 11th BN; 4th cstbde.

He moved from Charleston, W.Va. to Wooster in 2007 and married Jacqueline A. Griffis-Foxx on August 2, 2007 in Creston. She survives.

He had attended Wooster Nazarene Church; enjoyed fishing, was an O.S.U. and Cleveland Browns fan and was an avid gambler and enjoyed playing the lottery.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his father, Charles, Sr. (Mary Ann) Paxton of Princeton, W.Va. and his mother, Alice Wheeler of Brunswick, Oh.; a son, Matthew Dean Paxton of Ashland, Oh. and a daughter, Victoria Faith Paxton of W.Va.; a daughter, April Dawn Perez of Florida; his grandchildren, Madsion and Matthew Paxton, Jr., Carter and Oliver Foxx and the grandchildren was the love of his life and he will be deeply missed; a brother, William (Gina) Paxton; a step-son, Doug (Katie) Foxx of Shreve, Oh.; a step-brother, Ron (Pamela) Wheeler, Jr.; step-brothers, Charlie (Julie) Paxton and Joe Paxton all of Cleveland ; step-sisters, Tracy (L.C.) Paxton of Cleveland and Coleen Paxton of Florida; sister-in-law, Penny (John) Jacobson of Wooster and brother-in-law, Randy (Ruby) Griffis of Wooster; step-sisters, Rhonda Kaye Wheeler-Birckbichler, Brenda Irene Wheeler, Joyce Elizabeth (Bryan) Wheeler-Lamp, Ann Marie (Conrad) Wheeler-Banas; his faithful canine companion, "Chase" and his faithful feline companion, "Sissy".

He is preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Jane Bohl and his step-father, Ronald Kenneth Wheeler, Sr.

Services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, in Wooster with Pastor Angel Jackson officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior (1:00 - 2:00 p.m.) to services at the funeral home.

A private interment will take place following services at a later date at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to: the American Lung Assoc. or to the charity of the donors choice.
