Obituary for Gerald E. "Whitey" Eyster

Gerald "Whitey" Eyster, age 66, of Wooster, died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Life Care Hospice in Wooster.

He was born on May 16, 1951 in Wooster to Raymond E. and Althea (Russell) Eyster and has been a life long resident of the area.

He was owner/operator of the Eyster Excavating Trucking Co.for 15 years and had been in the trucking business for most of his life. He also owned and operated 2 bars; 1 in Wayne County called "The Hide-Out" and 1 in Millersburg called the "Town Tavern".

He enjoyed boating, motorcycling and building trikes; was an avid pool player, garage mechanic and was an all around jack of all trades.

He is survived by his daughters, April (Daniel) Keenan of Virginia Beach, Va. and Holly Eyster of Wooster; a sister, Carol (Don) Gasser of Fairlawn, Oh. and brothers, Roger (Angie) Eyster of Houston, Tx. and Ray (Linda) Eyster of Orrville, Oh.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Eyster.

A memorial visitation for family and friends will be Thursday from 6 - 8 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster.

A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
