Obituary for Earl J. Landes
Earl J. Landes, age 89, of Wooster, entered into rest on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his residence following a sudden illness.
He was born on June 7, 1929 in Madisonburg, (Wooster) Ohio to Ralph Earl and Mabel Georgia (Johnson) Landes and has been a life long resident of Wooster.
He had graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Business Degree and then served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict in Japan. Throughout the years, he enjoyed contributing to The Village Network (Boy's Village); was known for his exercising and walking throughout the area and was very frugal in nature.
He is survived by his numerous nieces and nephews and includes: Jim (Lois) Chapman of Seville, Craig (Deb) Chapman of London, Ohio, Bryan (Kathy) Chapman of Washington Court House, Ohio and LuAnn (Chris) Wallis of London, Ohio; a very good friend and caregiver, Darlene Stockton of Orrville; and many friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Chapman.
Memorial services will be Friday, 11:30 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating.
A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family at Wooster Cemetery at a later date.
