He was employed as a Registered Public Health Sanitarian for the cities of Norwood and Hamilton Ohio for 35 years. Retiring from public health in Cincinnati, he moved to Wooster where he worked as a courier for Wayne Savings Bank and Apple Creek bank until his retirement in 2017.

Arnie was a member of Loudonville Baptist Temple and taught children in Sunday School and ministered in the GriefShare program. He had a quick wit and enjoyed engaging people with his unique sense of humor. He loved children and became one of them in his playtime with them. He would cheer for his children and grandchildren so loudly that they would be embarrassed. He often waved at strangers which would further embarrass them. He enjoyed entertaining missionaries and visiting the shut-ins. He loved his Lord first of all and loved his wife, children and grandchildren with his whole heart.
