Obituary for Barbara Kay Staggs (Turpin)
Barbara Kay Staggs, age 74, of Apple Creek, passed away, Monday, March 1st, 2021 in Orrville at her daughters residence, following a period of declining health. Her family was by her side.
She was born on September 12, 1946 in Canton, Ohio to Charles Clifford and June Rozella (Wernick) Turpin.
Barbara previously lived in Pennsylvania before moving to Apple Creek where she has been a resident for approximately 30 years.
She was a member of United Pentecostal Church Hands Of Grace in Wooster; she had a knack with selling her own specially made goods (scrubbers & dish cloths) at area flea markets; enjoyed crocheting and gardening and previously bred dogs and birds; and for many years, had an Amish transport service; she mostly loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Mark (Jeannie) Geiger of Fremont, Ohio, Teri (Bryan) Metzger of Columbus, Ohio and Tina (Robert) Moreno of Orrville, Ohio; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Clifford Turpin (Kelly Last) of Vermont, Karen Patterson of Rhode Island and Jennifer Mears of North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Staggs who passed away on December 10, 2000, and a son, John M. Geiger who passed away on April 24, 2012.
It was her previous wishes that there be no services or flowers.
