Betty A. Princehorn, 83, of Temperance, MI, is now in God's loving embrace following an extended hospital stay. She passed on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio.
Betty was born on July 27, 1938 in Elyria, Ohio to Harry and Leona (Phillips) Huffman.
She graduated from South Amherst High School in South Amherst, Ohio in 1956.
After high school she was employed as a secretary at the US Steel Company in Lorain, OH where she met the love of her life, Duane Princehorn. They were married on October 28, 1961 in Lorain, Ohio and had 55 loving years together before her husband’s passing in 2017.
In addition to US Steel she was also employed by the Ford Motor Company and the Thomas E. Wolfe Insurance agency.
Betty’s passion definitely was her family. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She also was a member of Welcome Wagon of Valley City, OH. Making crafts and candles when her children were young always brought her joy and she continued this with her grandchildren when they were also young.
She was a member of Oak Chapel United Methodist Church of Wooster, OH but most recently attended Erie United Methodist Church of Erie, MI.
She was preceded in death by her husband Duane of 55 years, her parents, nine elder brothers and sisters and her daughter-in-law Annie who passed recently.
She is survived by her son, Todd (Andrea) Princehorn of Luna Pier, Mich.; and daughter, Marschal (James) Sutphin of Lebanon, Ky.; grandchildren, Megan (Brent) Nally, Jenna (RJ) Raymer, Logan Sutphin, and Briana Princehorn; and seven great-grandchildren, Malia, Jessilyn, Bentley, Country, Weston, Brodie and Rayleigh.
Visitation will be Thursday April 21st from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home 2284 Benden Dr., Wooster, OH 44691.
The funeral service will be held Friday April 22nd at 11:00 am at Oak Chapel United Methodist Church 4203 W. Lincoln Way, Wooster, OH 44691 with Pastors Robin Dillon and John Finn officiating. A visitation will take place a half hour (10:30 - 11:00 am) prior to services.
There will be a reception for family and friends immediately following the service at the church.
The Interment will then take place at St. John's Sixteen Cemetery in North Lawrence, OH 44666 after the reception luncheon.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association or Oak Chapel United Methodist Church.
