Obituary for Betty A. Scott (Lentz)
"Together Again"
Betty A. Scott, age 85, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Wayne County Care Center in Wooster after a period of declining health. Her family was by her side.
She was born on January 14, 1937 in Rochester, Pennsylvania to Godfrey and Jean (Kitchen) Lentz.
She married Wayne H. Scott on April 20, 1957. They shared 54 years together until his passing. He went home to be with the Lord on July 8, 2011.
She graduated from Lawrence County High School in Louisa, Kentucky in 1956. Betty worked and retired from Wayne County National Bank.
She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Wooster and her passion was singing in the choir. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed traveling around the country in her motor home, cooking for her family, canning her famous bread and butter pickles, candied beets and making her Peanut Butter pie. She had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by ALL.
She is survived by her sons, David W. Scott of Navarre, Steven D. (Margaret Richey) Scott; three lovely grandchildren, Shelby (Joel) Landis, Rylee Scott, Skylar Scott; one great-granddaughter, Stella Landis and a sister, Zella Jean Barrett of New Carlisle, Ohio.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her sister, Louella Allen of Rockingham, North Carolina.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster.
Graveside services will be on Friday, 1:00 p.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wooster with Rev. Larry Groves officiating.
