Obituary for Carrie Francis
Carrie L. Francis, age 61, of Wooster, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Summa Health Systems Hospital in Akron following a long illness.
She was born on February 22, 1962 in Huron, Ohio to Harry Lee and Janet L. (Williams) Francis and has been an area resident for most of her life.
Carrie had previously worked as a chef for many years and loved to cook for family and friends.
She was a devoted homemaker who also enjoyed bird watching, crocheting, playing on a pool league; loved collecting owls and Angels and mostly loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Amber "Boog" Stearns (Nick Liles) of Mansfield, Ohio and Carl Stearns (Bobbie McNutt) of Bellevue, Ohio; grandchildren, Serena Stearns, Seleste Santiago, Alex Santiago, Carrie Stearns, Spencer Stearns, David Crane, Stanley Stearns and Bart Stearns; a sister, Karen Bashak of Florida; brothers, Scott Terry (Paula) Francis of EastLake, Ohio, Gary Francis of Nova, Ohio and her faithful feline companion, "Sissy".
She is preceded in death by a brother, Harry Francis and a nephew, John Francis.
Services will take place on Wednesday, 3:00 pm at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster with Pastor Don Bolich officiating followed by burial at New Haven Cemetery in Plymouth, Ohio.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior (1:00 - 3:00 pm) to services at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
