Catherine J. "Cathy" Kunkel, age 73, of Youngstown and formerly of Wooster, entered into rest on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Vibra Hospital of Mahoning Valley in Youngstown after an extended illness.

Cathy was born in Freedom, Ohio on July 18, 1947 to Albert and Catherine (Monk) Mihalko, the first born of five children.

Cathy married Mark Kunkel on November 15, 1969.

She graduated from Medina High School and had attended Oral Roberts University.

Cathy had a life-long love of music, and was a talented pianist and song-writer.

She had a strong and abiding faith in God, which helped her to weather the storms of life.

She is survived by her sisters, Margaret Mihalko of Columbus, Cynthia Gainey of Shelby, Naomi Budd of Dayton and a brother, Allen Mihalko of Wooster.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Due to the pandemic and for the safety of others, there will be no public services or calling hours.

A private family burial will take place at Wooster Cemetery.

Cathy will always be deeply loved and sadly missed by her family and friends.
