Obituary for Clara E. Martin
Clara E. Martin, age 70 of Apple Creek, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, June 8, 2020 in Apple Creek following an unexpected illness.
She was born on October 10, 1949 in Holmes County to Roy Jr. and Betty (Berry) Barker, and has been a Wayne County Resident for all of her life.
Clara married Jack A. Martin on November 25, 1967 in Wooster. He went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2014.
She had started working at the former Buckeye Mart in Wooster and then worked for Rubbermaid of Wooster for over 40 years before her retirement.
She had attended the Wooster Nazarene Church and was very active for many years and also volunteered her time with the Wooster Hope Center. She enjoyed keeping very busy after her retirement.
Clara enjoyed spending time with friends and especially loved being with her family.
She is survived by her son, Duane A. Martin of Wooster; her siblings, Roy, III (Marilyn) Barker of Apple Creek, Raymond Barker of Wooster, Chuck (Sue) Barker of Arizona, Beverly (David) Bevington and Thomas Barker all of Wooster; numerous nieces and nephews and friends..
He parents and husband preceded her in death.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr. in Wooster with Pastor Jeremy Stasiowski officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services (1:00 -2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
A private interment will take place following the services at the convenience of the family.
