Obituary for David C. Masalko

David C. Masalko, age 64, of Apple Creek, passed away, on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital following a short illness.

He was born on May 21, 1955 in Canton, Ohio to Peter Edward and Marilyn Flo (Postlewait) Masalko and has been an Apple Creek resident for the last 16 years.

He previously worked as a truck driver/mechanic for the Logan Trucking Co. in Canton for many years. He then worked for Silver Brothers in Wooster before retiring after 5 years of service.

He had a unique way to communicate with wildlife which included cats, birds and frogs; for many years, he played bass for many local area bands that included, "Southern Heart", "Jump Ship to Freedom", "Bates Motel", "Fall Out" and "The Shawne Lucas Band".

He is survived by his daughter, Davida M. (Brad) Wagner of Uniontown, Ohio; his long-time fiance, Carol Pahanish of Apple Creek; grandchildren, Andrew, Alex, Braden and Blake and a sister, Susan (David) Shaffer of Navarre, Oh.; his best friend, Jeff Bates of Apple Creek and his faithful feline companions, "Franey" and "Dippy".

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Bob Masalko.

It was his previous wishes not to have any public services. A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.
