Obituary for Debra Delaney (Lowers)

On Monday, April 5, 2021, Deb Delaney, of Apple Creek, loving wife and mother of two sons, passed away at the age of 65. Her family was by her side.

Deb was born on February 25, 1956 to Martha Baughman and Gerald "Jerry" Lowers.

She was a graduate of Smithville High School and later worked as a Title Clerk at Maibachs, Strickland Mason, was Event Coordinator at Juli-Fe Country Club and most recently in sales at Gateway.

On November 23 1973, she married George Delaney and together, they raised two sons, Dan and Scott Delaney.

Deb had a passion for embroidery, ceramics and sewing. She was avid about gardening and became an Officer for the Triway Gardening Club. She supported her husband in late model racing. She loved racing so much that she drove in the Powder Puff races, winning many races herself. She also coordinated Kids Night at the Wayne County Speedway and evolved it into the fun and enjoyable night that it is today.

She loved watching her sons and grandchildren playing sports, never missing a game.

Deb is preceded in death by her father, Gerald; step-father, Bob Baughman and a brother, Mike Lowers.

She is survived by her husband, George; two sons, Scott (Annie) Delaney and Dan Delaney; mother, Martha Baughman; a sister, Becky (Kevin) Numbers; a brother, Mark Lowers; her three grandsons, Tyler Delaney, Ethan Delaney and Krew Delaney; a granddaughter, Taylor Baumberger and a great-grandson Liam Delaney and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Close friends and family are welcome to gather for a time to share memories on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at the home of Deb and George.

In remembrance of Deb's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made in lieu of flowers to: Ohio's Hospice LifeCare, 1900 Akron Rd., Wooster, Ohio 44691.
