Obituary for Douglas E. "Doug" Wood
Douglas E. "Doug" Wood, age 67, of Wooster, passed away, Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Wooster Community Hospital following a period of declining health.
He was born on November 17, 1952 in Chula Vista, CA. to George William and Betty June (Partlow) Wood and has been an area resident for many years.
Doug served in the US Navy from July 11, 1974 - July 13, 1976 and married Doris Beth Reising on October 4, 1980 in Springfield, TN. She survives.
He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his sons, Shawn Wood of Wooster, Ben and Jeremy Strouse all of Orrville; a sister, George Ann Polk of Chula Vista, CA.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Laura Kay Wood; brothers, Stanley and Tom Wood and a brother-in-law, Frankie Elliott.
It was his previous wishes there be no local services.
A private interment will take place in Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA at the convenience of the family.
