Obituary for Eleanor L. "Together Again" Harper (Wallace)

Eleanor L. "Wally" Harper, age 99, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster.

She was born on May 29, 1921 in Irwin, PA., to Howard J. and Esther (Magneson) Wallace.

She married Ray V. Harper on April 20, 1946 in Irwin, PA. He went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2004 in Wooster.

In 1958, they moved from Euclid, Ohio to the Wooster area. After obtaining her teaching degree, she then taught school for the next 10 years at Smithville Middle School.

She was a long-time member of Northview Alliance Church in Wooster where she served in many capacities which also included a Deaconess and Sunday School Teacher; she was a member of the American Glass Society and also enjoyed collecting glass and Hallmark ornaments. She loved raising her gladiolas in her garden for many years and was a former member of AAUW. She mainly loved being with her family and always enjoyed the company of people.

She is survived by a son, Steven R. (Sharon) Harper of Wooster; grandchildren, Justin M. Harper of Wooster and Katherine M. Harper of Filley, NE.; great-granddaughters, Charlie Harper-Husky and Drucilla Harper-Husky both of Filley, NE.; several nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Robert W. Harper and her brothers, Norman and Robert Wallace.

Services will be Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Dan Wingate officiating.

Visitation will take place one hour (10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) prior to services at the funeral home.

Burial will then take place 2:00 p.m. at Northwood Cemetery, in Cambridge, Ohio.

The family wishes to convey a special thank you to the staff at Westview Healthy Living for their wonderful care and concern for Eleanor during her stay.
