Obituary for Ernestine May "Peggy" Faught (McCartney)

Ernestine "Peggy" M. Faught, age 91, of Wooster, went home to her Heavenly Father and family, on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at her residence in Wooster following a period of declining health. She remained in her home with family surrounding her as she passed peacefully with the help and guidance of Gilcrest Center Direction Home, Home Health Team and LifeCare Hospice. The family wishes to thank all of those who helped with the care and comfort that was provided through this difficult time.

Peggy was born in Marshallville, Ohio to the late Duard J. and Olena (Smarr) McCartney on September 25, 1929.

The family moved to Burton City near Orrville where she graduated from Orrville High School.

Afterwards, she married Bantz Reaser. They then moved to the Navarre area where Peggy went to work at Aultman Memorial Hospital in Canton for 18 years and while raising 5 girls. After the death of her first husband, she then moved to Wooster where she then worked for the next 25 years as a nurses Aide for the Wayne County Care Center. Afterwards, she then worked for Odd Lots for a few years before retiring. That gave her more time to shop, shop, and shop which she enjoyed.

She enjoyed traveling and especially camping with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed crafting and reading and making her YoYo Clowns for family and friends. She also loved to play her piano and the accordian. Peggy mostly loved spending time with her grandkids and doing things for them throughout the years. She was a member of the First Church of God in Wooster.

Even though she obtained her driver's license since her high school days, she didn't enjoy driving and avoided going anywhere unless someone else took her places which the family thought was comical.

In addition to her parents and first husband, she is preceded in death by her second husband, Robert Faught; sister & brother-in-law, Dorothy (Donald) Barnes; brothers, Bud and Doyle McCartney; 4 son-in-laws, Gary Yost, George Kelley, Norman Higgins and Jimmy Miller.

She is survived by her five daughters, Cheryl (Earl) Gray of Canton, Kathy (Rick) Dilley of Sandy Valley, NV, Dottie Kelley of Wooster, Donna (James) Ward of North Lawrence, Oh. and Lois "Petie" Higgins of Carrollton, Oh.; a dear friend, Lena Dillinger and her precious canine companion, "Angel Dawn"; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

There will be no public services or visitation.

Private services were held at the convenience of the family and burial was at the Wooster Cemetery.
