Obituary for Eugene P. "Patrick" Carroll

E. Patrick Carroll, age 66, of Wooster, unexpectedly entered into rest on Thursday, May 6th 2021.

He was born to Laurence James and Mary Anne Carroll (Pitts) on September 28th 1954 in Lakewood, Ohio.

He served in the US Navy from September 23, 1974 – July 29, 1975. He then obtained his bachelors degree from Bowling Green State University and became a band director at various grade schools. He also performed as bass trombonist in Night Coach before receiving his Master’s Degree from Cleveland State University.

He continued to teach music as well as having a remarkable talent for composing music and conducted several bands throughout his career.

Following his retirement, he taught and gave music lessons, repaired instruments, and donated his time by performing in various band ensembles as a trombonist. He also spent his time as an active member and devoted advocate for many non-profit organizations such as the Chickahominy Indian tribe and Awareness in Motion Peace Project. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Wooster and belonged to different chapters of the Lion’s Club.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Lindsey Marie Carroll and beloved grandchildren, Lindsey Jr, Ariella, Lilly, Dominic, Jordan, and Zachary; his devoted confidant Jean Marvin; his siblings Maureen (Javier) Reyes, Michael Carroll, Timothy (Charles Schuminski) Carroll, as well as his faithful canine companions Maggie and Maddie; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his dear sister, Marjorie Anne Carroll.

Funeral Services will be Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at Custer - Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster with Rev. Dr. Kevan Franklin officiating.

Visitation will take place on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Wooster.

A private interment will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman at the convenience of the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
