Evelyn M. Byers, age 83, of Wooster, entered into rest on Saturday, December 31, 2022.
She was born on April 13, 1939 in Millersburg, Ohio to Melvin and Mary Mabel (Mast) Boley.
Evelyn had been a Holmes and Wayne County resident for all of her life.
She retired from Wooster Community Hospital as a housekeeper while working in the ER. She liked her job and considered her co-workers good friends.
She loved rooting for all the Ohio sports teams including the Browns, Buckeyes and Indians. She always had the schedules handy, to be sure she never missed a game.
Evelyn also enjoyed watching game shows and working puzzle books.
She was an avid reader, being particularly fond of the Stephen King novels. She boasted about having his entire collection.
She will be deeply missed by her family.
She leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Christi Boley of Wooster; granddaughters, Shannon (John) Kaufman of Shreve, Tara Boley of Wooster; a grandson, David L.M. Boley of Wooster; a sister, Carole (Larry Williams) Ridenbaugh of Millersburg; nieces, nephews and a life-long friend, Madeline Holcomb.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David L. Boley; sisters, Lucille Gilt, Ruth and Betty Boley; brothers, Lee, David W. and Grover Boley; a niece, Sheyanne Hites and nephew, Michael "Mick" Boley.
It was her previous wish, that there be no public services.
A private interment will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
