Obituary for George Calvin Hirschl

George Calvin Hirschl Sr., age 67, of Wooster, entered into rest on Monday, April 26, 2021 at West View Healthy Living in Wooster following a period of declining health.

He was born on August 1, 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio.

George had served in the US Army and previously worked in the oil fields for many years in Illinois.

He enjoyed rock and roll music and especially found great joy attending many concerts and live entertainment with his companion, Susie; was a lifelong NASCAR and Browns fan; spent many days "rolling" through his neighborhood visiting his friends; enjoyed collecting and playing video games but he mostly loved spending time with his grandchildren and his family.

He is survived by his children, Amy (Geoff) Hirschl and George Calvin Hirschl Jr. all of Illinois; 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He also leaves behind his companion of 30 years, Elizabeth "Susie" Franks, her daughter, Amber (Robert) Zarella and two grandsons.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur & Gertrude Hirschl.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 15th 4:00 p.m. at Wooster Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Wooster with Pastor Ben Robinson officiating.

A private interment has taken place at the convenience of the family.

Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.

Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the funeral home to help defray expenses.
