Obituary for Gerald Krabill

Gerald W. Krabill, 80, of Smithville, passed away Wednesday March 31st at LifeCare Hospice, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 6, 1940 in West Liberty, Ohio, to Fred and Elizabeth Mae (Yoder) Krabill, Gerald was a gifted man with many talents and vocations. Throughout his life, he worked as a barber, managed reed voices for Schantz Organ Company, delivered new vehicles for Honda, and was an auxiliary officer with Wooster Police Department's Special Forces.

Gerald was an active member of Smithville Brethren Church. His artistic abilities included hand-carved sandstone, painting, woodworking, gardening, and N-gauge railroading. Gerald enjoyed traveling, especially to the Four Corners area of Colorado, and spending time with his family.

Gerald is survived by his wife Rachel, daughters Jennifer (David) Winter and Jill (Chad) Ackerman, brother Marvin of Smithville, grandchildren Jacob (Merry) Ackerman, Daniel (Bri) Ackerman, Izzy Winter, Calvin Winter, and two great-grandchildren expected this year.

A memorial service will be held at 10am, Saturday April 17th, 2021 at Smithville Brethren Church, officiated by Gerald's grandson Daniel Ackerman.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, or Smithville Brethren Church.
