Obituary for H. Eugene Fisher

H. Eugene Fisher, age 82, of Wooster, peacefully passed away, Thursday, January 24th, 2019 at Wooster Community Hospital following an apparent heart attack.

He was born on April 20, 1936 in Ripley, W.Va. to William Hiram and Clara Goldie (Fields) Fisher.

He married Geneva M. Westfall on January 31, 1960. She survives.

He had previously lived in the North Lawrence (Dalton) area before moving to Wooster in 2000.

He had worked for LTV Steel Co. (Republic Steel) in Massillon in the Transportation Dept. for 42 years before retiring in 1989.

Eugene enjoyed fishing and mowing but mostly loved spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of almost 59 years, he is survived by his daughter, Jeanette D. Eberle of Wooster; his grandson, Nicholas Wayne Eberle of TN. who was the "apple of his eye"; 4 brothers, Harvey (Eileen) Fisher of Dalton, Oh., Ira (Lillian) Fisher of Ripley, W.Va., Mickey Fisher of Cottageville, W. Va., and Jimmy (Virginia) Fisher of Fairplain, W. Va.; a sister, Rosalee Barker of Collageville, W. Va.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, John Henry, Philbert, Ross and Stanley Fisher; sisters, Ermalee Fields and Martha Ann Fisher.

Services will be Tuesday, 1:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with Pastor Mark Buckwalter officiating. Interment will follow at Dalton Cemetery.

A Private visitation for the family will take place from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Public visitation will then be one hour prior (12:00 - 1:00 p.m.) to services at the funeral home.
