Obituary for Helen Ann Yeagley (Yeagley)

Helen Ann Yeagley, age 86, of Wooster, passed away at Smithville-Western Care Center on April 28, 2020 after a four-year period of declining health.

She was born on the family farm in Chester Township on January 28, 1934 to Clarence F. and Ethel Mae (Seib) Yeagley and graduated from Chester High School.

Helen attended Wooster Business College following graduation. Over the years, she worked as a bookkeeper for Annats, Rubbermaid, Sears and Sposty Bag, all in Wooster. Then she joined the housekeeping staff at Gruter Foundation in New Pittsburg, working the overnight cleaning shift for many years. After leaving Gruters, she did overnight cleaning at the Wayne County Courthouse until her retirement.

Helen loved animals, especially her pet cats. She always looked forward to the large Yeagley Family Reunion each summer and to extended visits at her sister Pauline's home in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

Helen is survived by a brother, Carl (Kay) Yeagley of Wooster; a nephew, David Crites of Reynoldsburg, Ohio and a niece, Sharon Mauger of Pataskala, Ohio.

Besides her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Crites and a brother, Donald Yeagley.

There will be no visitation or services. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster is honored with serving the family.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all the staff at Smithville-Western Care Center for taking care of Helen the past few years.
