Obituary for Homer "Keith" Beery

Keith Beery, age 86, of Rittman, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at his residence following a period of declining health. His loving family was by his side.

He was born on November 7, 1934 in Seville, Ohio to Homer & Mary (Hartman) Beery.

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

Keith married Beverly J. Wilson in Norton on November 28, 1986. She survives.

Keith had worked as a Truck Driver for the Yellow Freight Co. in Medina for over 42 years. He loved and enjoyed his career as a truck driver and even had the designation of "The Worlds Best Driver".

Before moving to Wooster he and his wife had lived in the Coshocton and Medina area's before moving to Rittman in 2016. While in Medina, he had previously worked at a popular hardware store


He was a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Rittman where he also helped with the caretaking duties; throughout his life, he enjoyed being with his mother while listening to classical music and also from the 50's and 60's; researching his family genealogy and had a passion with all aspects of large locomotive trains. Keith mostly loved being with his family and many friends. He was a faithful and daily studier of the Bible.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Jim (Stephanie) Fish of Wooster, Ohio and a daughter, Patricia (Brian) Stephens of Mayfield, Ohio; one grandson, one granddaughter, and one great-great grandson; a nephew, Maynard Beery of Michigan; nieces, Mary Beery, Carol (Van) Johnson, and Jeanne Beery all of Wyoming, Cathy Beery (Terry Berg) of Indiana and Christy Beery (Gary Bush) of Seville; numerous other great-nieces, great- nephews and step-grandchildren; his faithful canine companion, "Tigger".

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard Beery and Elton Beery.

Memorial services will take place on Friday, 11:00 a.m. at Hillside Baptist Church, 19 W. Ohio Ave., in Rittman with Rev. Kevin Fath officiating.

Inurnment will take place at a later date at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman with honors rendered.
