Obituary for Hunter R. Smith

Hunter R. Smith, age 20 of Wooster, peacefully went home to be with Jesus on August 20, 2021 at her home where she was surrounded by her loving family following a life-long battle with a congenital heart defect.

She was born on September 20, 2000 in Columbus, Ohio and has been a Wooster resident for most of her life.

She lived a full life. As she would always say, "I am well loved." Anyone who came in contact with her could see her joy. She loved Jesus deeply and loved on people with all she had. Her smile could light up a room and turn someone's bad day into a good one.

She graduated from Triway High School in 2019. She was currently enrolled at Stark State College as a full-time student in Medical Assisting where she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.

Hunter was a very active member of Wooster Church of The Nazarene where she was involved with the Young Adults Class and loved working with the 4 year old children.

She loved to visit Disney World with her family and called Gatlinburg, TN. her second home. She mostly loved being with her family and everyone that knew her whom she also loved dearly.

She is survived by her mother, Shelly Wise-Smith who dearly loved her; grandparents, Ken (Yvonne) Wise all of Wooster; her aunt and uncle, Kenny (Cindy) Wise of Bethany, OK.; cousins, Kenna and Tyler Thornton, Jaci and Bretyn Wise all of OK.; and loved by many more aunts, uncles and numerous cousins who loved her dearly. She was more than just simply a niece or cousin. All of the family felt like she was theirs. Hunter loved that they all loved her so much and would do anything for her.

She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, William "Bill" (Deloris) Daugherty, John (Dorthea) Wise and her uncle, Dan Daugherty.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Thursday from 6 - 9 p.m. at Wooster Church Of The Nazarene.

Services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the church with Pastor Nathan Ward officiating followed by interment at Sherwood Memorial Gardens in Wooster.
