Launa R. Shaffer, age 83, of Wooster, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at her residence.
She was born on January 15, 1939 in Elkins, W.Va. to Harry R. and Nola M. (Fleisher) Teter.
After moving from W.Va. to the Wooster area in 1959 she married Edward L. Shaffer on August 13, 1960 in Apple Creek. He went home to be with the Lord on March 5, 1988.
Launa worked as a Food Service Manager at the former Apple Creek Developmental Center before retiring in 1991.
She enjoyed gardening; cooking, and baking. A loving caring person always thinking of others.
She is survived by her sister, Carol (Dean) Mizer of Berthoud, CO.; 3 nieces, 4 nephews and her close neighbors.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her 2 brothers, Jerry and Bardon Teter and a niece Barbara (Teter) DeVivo.
Services will take place on Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr.,in Wooster with Rev. Don Bolich officiating.
Visitation will be one hour (1:00 - 2:00 p.m.) prior to services at the funeral home.
A private interment will take place at the Pifer Mountain Cemetery in Saint George, (Tucker County) W.Va. at the convenience of the family.
