There would never be enough ink to write about Michael to truly capture all the great qualities he possessed while with all of us.

As a spouse to Charlotte, he dedicated 53 ½ yrs of his life to showing her his love and his loyalty to her. He placed her on a pedestal and admired her as the most beautiful woman in the world. He chose to show his love in everyday ways and was always proud she chose him as her husband. He was a model husband and his family learned how to love their significant others by watching him care for Charlotte each day.

As a parent, he was resourceful and smart and had a lot of fun facts that were weird and fun and historical. He was always supportive, encouraging and would cheer them on in whatever they were doing in their lives. He helped in any way he could, whenever he could and stood by them through the ups and downs of whatever life decided to throw at them. He loved them with all he had and was proud to be their dad.

As a grandparent/great grandparent, he found himself even more proud to have them as part of the family. He would willingly accept any invitation to get on the floor to play with whatever toy there was…a doll, a stuffed animal, a Barbie, a car. He laughed and giggled, snuggled, and comforted and he admired each as they learned and grew in front of his eyes. He taught them fun things, sneaky things, and things only grandpas can get away with! He loved them wholeheartedly and was content when everyone gathered to know he was their Bampa/Grandpa/Poppop/Poppa Mike.

As a man, Mike showed the rest of the world his whole self. He was a man of integrity and wit. He had a charm and a delightful way about him that could not be compared to anyone else. He had a playful and sarcastic side to him that would endear anyone meeting him to him. He enjoyed simple and pleasant things in this life. He was kind and gentle and had a quiet strength about him. He was admired for who he was and didn’t expect anything in return.

Mike will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy lives on in the family he left behind. We are grateful for the time we had with him in this earthly place and the memories we have will continue to be blessings in our
hearts.

We would like to thank all the medical staff over the years who were compassionate and thorough in their care for Mike such as his physicians, Dr. Peter Katsaros, Dr. Glenn Black, Dr. Datinder Deo and Dr. Derek Brown. He fully trusted and respected each of them through his medical challenges. Recently, those at Wooster Hospital and at Ohio Hospice Life Care Center treated Michael with dignity and respect, cared for his end of life needs and went above and beyond their respective positions to help him during his time with them.

A private, family burial ceremony will be held at Ohio Western Reserve soon.
