Obituary for Neoma Jean Bates (Rochester)
Neoma Jean Bates, age 82, of Wooster, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021 at her home where she was surrounded by her loved ones.
Jean was born on April 17, 1939 in Cambridge, Ohio to Vernon and Margaret (Wiley) Rochester.
She had previously worked for the former Apple Creek Developmental Center and enjoyed going to yard sales.
Surviving are her son, Jim (Judy) Bates of Wooster; daughter, Gina (Jim) Bates of Apple Creek; daughter-in-law, Karen Brenneman of Rittman; granddaughter, Heather (Brandon) Clark of Mason; grandson, Nick Townsend of Sandusky; brother, Gary (Sue) Rochester of Bentonville, Arkansas; and a sister, Sharon (Ron) Grimshaw of Apple Creek.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her life partner, Tom Wilcox; a son, Jeff Bates; a brother, Ted Rochester and a sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Dave Nelson.
It was her previous wish that there be no public services.
A private interment will take place at Sherwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
