Obituary for Patricia Ann Converse

Gahanna, OH – Patricia Ann (Elavsky) Converse, age 72 passed away after a brief illness on September 5, 2022 at her home with her loved ones in Gahanna, Ohio.

Pat was born in Massillon, Ohio on August 28, 1950. Pat was the daughter of the late Susan (Chovan) Elavsky and Edward Elavsky of Massillon, Ohio. Pat was able to have a joyous birthday celebration just prior to her death with her son Christopher M Converse, Columbus, Ohio, daughter Brittany A. Converse, Gahanna, Ohio and her husband of 51 years Mark A Converse.

Pat met her husband Mark when they were members of the Massillon Washington High Band and fell in love.

Pat is survived by her loving and supporting sister Cheryl (Elavsky) Green and husband Al Green kind loving brothers Donald Elavsky and wife Diane Elavksy, Columbus, Ohio and Rick Elavsky and Rosemary Elavsky, Parma, Ohio and so many loving in-laws, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Pat was an avid gardener, who knew every flower and bush (and weed), a walker, backpacker and hiker, creative and wonderful cook, lover of Irish music or anything her daughter played on her violin, a distance bicycle rider of all of Central Ohio’s bikeways up until her death and a loving and wonderful mother, spouse and most of all a kind and loyal friend. Her laugh and smile will be a part of all who knew her.

Pat’s love of the outdoors and woods and will be carried over to her green interment at Foxfield Preserve a Conservation Burial Ground, 9877 Alabama Ave., Wilmot, Ohio in a beautiful wooded setting on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 12 Noon where deer, fox, squirrels and birds will certainly visit her resting place.

Pat’s Foxfield interment arrangements have been coordinated by Custer-Glenn Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Wooster, Ohio.

Those wishing to make a donation in Pat’s name might consider Foxfield Preserve and the Wilderness Center, Franklin County Metro Parks Alum Creek Trail, or her favorite trail of all the T J Evans Trail from Johnstown, Ohio to Granville, Ohio. You can also just walk in the woods, hold hands with your loved ones and think about her. She’d like that.
