Obituary for Punky P. Allison

Leland P. “Punky” Allison, age 69, of Wooster, was called home to be with the lord on Wednesday, October 2nd, 2019.

He was born on May 16, 1950 in Wooster to Leland Carl and Ruth "Keek" (DiOrio) Allison and had been a Shreve and Wooster resident for all of his life.

Punky leaves behind his beloved wife Lourene M. "Rene" (Hartsoe) Allison whom he married on May 12, 2007; his son, Leland “Hoss” Allison and his wife Sharon; his grandchildren, Dylan, Nik, & Emily; and his extended family, Herb (Carrie) Hartsoe and family, Andy (Chris) Hartsoe and family.

He worked in the titanium industry his entire life and most recently for Titanium Processing Center of Troy, Michigan as Vice President of Sales and Marketing before his retirement.

He had a true spirit for youth and in the mid to late 70's he served as youth pastor for the Wooster Foursquare Church.


Punky was a true patriot and had attended New Hope Church in Wooster. He was previously an active member of the Lamplighters Club for many years.

He enjoyed traveling, dancing, karaoke, riding his motorcycle and every so often enjoyed smoking a good cigar. Punky had a quick wit, an infectious smile, and a kind and compassionate spirit. He lived and loved large and our family was the recipient of his love, care, super fun and joyful heart, adventurous spirit and his faith.

In addition to those already mentioned, he is survived by a brother, John (Lori) Allison of Atlanta, Georgia; a niece and nephew, Moriah and Jonathan Allison; a beloved aunt, Sally Daugherty; his nieces and nephews, Heather Jo, Jamey (Brooke), Jeremy (Alicia), Johnny (Kendra), Jenny (Zach), Julie (Nick), Joy, Josiah (Yulia) and JoAnna, all of whom were very special to him.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jimmy Allison.

Per his wishes, there will be a private grave side committal, performed by Bill Watson, to take place at Foxfield Preserve Cemetery in Wilmot at the convenience of his family. There will be no public visitation.

A public Celebration Of Life gathering is scheduled for October 19th, 2019 from 2-4pm, at New Hope Church in Wooster.
