Obituary for Rosemary Raifsnider
Rosemary Raifsnider, age 84, of Wooster, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Avenue at Wooster Care Center following a short period of declining health.
She was born on October 16, 1937 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio to Francis Edward, Sr. and Lucille Grace (Capra) Barnes and later moved to the Bellevue, Ohio area.
She married Gerald E. Raifsnider on October 22, 1955 in Bellevue, Ohio and were later blessed with two sons. He previously went home to be with the Lord on February 17, 2014.
In 1989, she worked for the Dept. of Human Services and then worked as a Driver's Education teacher with the Wayne County Board of Education for the next 7 years.
She was a long-time member of the Blachleyville United Church of Christ in Wooster and was involved with the Women of The Word bible study. She mainly enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by a son, Stephen E. (Nancy) Raifsnider of Shumway, IL.; a daughter-in-law, Diana Raifsnider of Smithville; 6 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brothers, Francis E. "Buzz" (Jean ) Barnes of Wooster, Richard D. (Aileen) Barnes of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and Gregory W. (Deirdre "Dee") Barnes of Fredericktown, Ohio; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son, Douglas H. Raifsnider.
Funeral services will take place on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at Blachleyville United Church of Christ, in Wooster with Pastor Dan Kirtlan officiating . Burial will then follow at New Pittsburg Cemetery in (New Pittsburg) Wooster.
Visitation will be one hour prior (10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.) to services at the church.
