Sophia R. McMarlin, age 26, of Wooster, Ohio entered into rest on Thursday, April 2, 2020 due to an unexpected circumstance.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 11, 1993 to James F. McMarlin and Iva B. Luic and has been a Wooster resident since 2012.
She was well-known for her work as a waitress, but had recently been working for Wooster Community Hospital.
As a child, Sophia could always be found crafting. While in high school, she enjoyed playing violin in the orchestra and was part of the flag corps in the marching band. Sophia also attended Orrville Baptist Church where she was involved in the Embrace Grace Ministry. She was in the planning stages of starting a support group for single moms and was planning to go back to school to become a substance abuse counselor. Sophia also provided several classes for OneEighty and loved the experience. She enjoyed helping people who wanted to overcome their addiction like she did and was known for being a safe, non judgemental friend.
Sophia mainly loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her children that she adored.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Zayn R. Mullet and Finnley A. Crall both of the home; her sisters, Amanda R. (Gibson) Siegrist of Wooster, Ohio, Taylor R. McMarlin of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Maya R. McMarlin and Heather R. McMarlin of Wooster, Ohio; her maternal grandmother, Maria Luich of Garfield Heights, Ohio and paternal grandmother, Lillian McMarlin of Strongsville, Ohio; many more extended family and numerous friends.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Luich and paternal grandfather, John F. McMarlin; cousins, Lyndsey Collins and Angela Faith Zadravec and an uncle, Jack P. McMarlin
In light of the current pandemic, a private viewing and service will be held at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home in Wooster with burial taking place at Wooster Cemetery at the convenience of the immediate family.
