Obituary for Wayne D. Struzik

Wayne D. Struzik, age 83, of Wooster, passed peacefully on January 12 , 2022, after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Baltimore, MD. June 23, 1938, to Alonzo and Yetive (Spiker) Struzik.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Eileen R. (Burns) Struzik (57).

He is survived by a son, Christopher Struzik and wife Lisa of Wooster, OH.; a daughter, Gwen Smith and husband Bob of Winston-Salem, NC; five grand-children, Zachary, Ashlyn, Lauren, Hannah and R.C.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a sister, Joan Cerny; a brother-in-law, George "Tom" Kuhn of Kingsville, MD.

Wayne was a graduate of Parkville High School (1957) in Baltimore, MD.

He was a Navy veteran, serving as an Aviation Machinist at Oceana Naval Air Station, VA, honorably discharged in 1961.

He was a devout Catholic, most recently as a member of St Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wooster.

He loved cooking, western movies, playing basketball, coaching little league football, Hawaii, and deep sea fishing. He was a leader in serving his community of Bel Air, MD as a Jaycee and a JCI Senator.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
