Obituary for William J "Bill" Burkhart Sr.
William John Burkhart Sr. 07/16/66 -- 06/22/19.
"Mr Bill" as he was known, went home to be with the Lord on 06/22/19. He went home exactly the way he wanted to. He went doing what he loved with the woman that he loved.
He loved his God and his family fiercely and completely. He served his church and his country with pride and honor.
He was a quiet, shy man and had a heart much bigger than anyone realized. He loved finding veterans alone at a restaurant and paying for their meal. He received much joy from helping at Wooster Church of the Nazarene on their Safety Team and being a part of their One Way motorcycle ministry.
Mr Bill's biggest joy was his family and making memories with them. He loved cooking for them and seeing them enjoy his food. He loved loading up his kids for a day trip or looking for the weirdest, out-of-the-way places to eat. He raised two incredible kids and they were his greatest treasure here on Earth.
Bill worked for BCI Buckeye Division (Buckeye Container) for 22 years, loved his job and co-workers and was incredibly proud to do a good job for them. He was a design manager and couldn't get through a grocery store without stopping to fix a display not put together correctly. BCI also provided an avenue that allowed Mr Bill to serve his community by providing board for the school, or making boxes for projects at church or specialty boxes for people who needed help.
Bill leaves behind his mother, Sharon, whom he adored and took care of to the best of his ability. He also left behind an amazing daughter, Lyndsay, of whom he was most proud. He left behind a fine young man, William "Buddy," his racing and rock 'n' roll buddy. His wife BethAnne will forever be scarred by the hole left in her heart. Mr Bill and BethAnne didn't have a perfect marriage, but they had a perfect friendship and that is what will be missed the most.
Mr Bill's life was transformed by the power of the Almighty Jesus Christ and though his family is grieving, they grieve with peace and the knowledge that they will see him again. They pray you will find this same Jesus who is getting them through this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Wooster Church of the Nazarene Building Fund.
