Obituary for William Garnes

William "Gary" Garnes, age 71, of Wooster, passed away, on Monday, August 1, 2022, at Wayne County Care Center in Wooster following a long-fought battle with health issues. His loving family was by his side.

He was born on August 28, 1950, in Lodi, Ohio to William Kenna and Olive (Regal) Garnes.

Gary lived in the Wayne County area for the majority of his adult life.

He married the love of his life, Patricia Kay Morgan, on April 4, 1987, in Barberton, Ohio. She survives.

He obtained an Associate Degree from the University of Akron. Gary spent his career as a Social Worker and Certified Master Gardener maintaining several large estates in Wayne and Richland counties.

He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Wooster; while in college, he became President of the Behavioral Science Club; he was a passionate gardener and loved animals, especially raising his canine companions. He thoroughly enjoyed watching Ohio sports with his children and loved extending hospitality to many friends throughout the years.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his children, Christina Kauffman (Laudy Bass) of Wooster, OH., Ben (Rebecca) Garnes of Lockport, NY. and Seth William (Amanda) Garnes of Gallatin, TN.; grandchildren, Kami, Hailey, Manny, DJ, Will, and Seth, Jr.; a brother, John (Debbie) Garnes of Wooster, OH.; sisters, Karen Nunez of New Pittsburg, OH., and Linda Garnes of Lakewood, OH.; many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends; his faithful canine companion, "Willy" and 5 grand dogs.

His parents and sisters; Jill, Donna, and Janet preceded him in death.

A memorial service will take place on August 13, 2022, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Wooster Ohio.
