Obituary for Wilma Joan "Ann" Oliver (Grady)

Wilma Joan "Ann" Oliver, age 89, of Wooster, went home to be with her husband and the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Columbus following a period of declining health. She was surrounded by her loving family at her daughter’s home.

She was born on March 8, 1930, in Washingtonville, Ohio, to Perry B. and Naomi G. (Beall) Grady. She then moved to the Wooster area in 1948, after her marriage to Robert E. Oliver on November 20, 1948, in Washingtonville. He went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2002.

Ann had previously worked at the cosmetic counter at Buehlers in Orrville and as an Office Secretary for Millborne Mobile Manor in Apple Creek for 10 years.

She had previously belonged to the Crown Retiree Club in Wooster, was a member of the Highland Church of God in Wooster, and belonged to the WWE (Widow & Widowers) Club at the church.

Ann enjoyed needlepoint, bird-watching, working on jigsaw puzzles, arts, crafts, and playing dominoes, Canasta, and Euchre with friends and family. She mostly loved spending time with her family and especially time with her many beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her children, Jeff L. (Vicki) Oliver of West Salem, Ohio, Sandy (Robert) Jessberger of Upper Arlington, Ohio, and Cindy (Keith) Fry of Wooster; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; and 3 sisters, Irene Herman, Verona (Sam) Lippiatt, and Marlene Grady all of Salem, Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara; 3 grandchildren, Lonnie Smith, Robin Tucker, and Angie Oliver; her 4 brothers, Ralph, Wayne, Glenn, and Hobart; her 2 sisters, Helen Hartman and Barbara Headland; and her beloved feline companion, "Simon".

Visitation will be Friday, February 14, from 5 - 7 p.m., at Custer-Glenn Funeral Home, 2284 Benden Dr., in Wooster.

Services will be Saturday, February 15, 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Mark McCord officiating followed by interment at Wooster Cemetery.
