Sophia R. McMarlin, age 26, of Wooster, Ohio entered into rest on Thursday, April 2, 2020 due to an unexpected circumstance.

She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on May 11, 1993 to James F. McMarlin and Iva B. Luic and has been a Wooster resident since 2012.

She was well-known for her work as a waitress, but had recently been working for Wooster Community Hospital.

As a child, Sophia could always be found crafting. While in high school, she enjoyed playing violin in the orchestra and was part of the flag corps in the marching band. Sophia also attended Orrville Baptist Church where she was involved in the Embrace Grace Ministry. She was in the planning stages of starting a support group for single moms and was planning to go back to school to become a substance abuse counselor. Sophia also provided several classes for OneEighty and loved the experience. She enjoyed helping people who wanted to overcome their addiction like she did and was known for being a safe, non judgemental friend.

Sophia mainly loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her children that she adored.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her children, Zayn R. Mullet and Finnley A. Crall both of the home; her sisters, Amanda R. (Gibson) Siegrist of Wooster, Ohio, Taylor R. McMarlin of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Maya R. McMarlin and Heather R. McMarlin of Wooster, Ohio; her maternal grandmother, Maria Luich of Garfield Heights, Ohio and paternal grandmother, Lillian McMarlin of Strongsville, Ohio; many more extended family and numerous friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, John Luich and paternal grandfather, John F. McMarlin; cousins, Lyndsey Collins and Angela Faith Zadravec and an uncle, Jack P. McMarlin

Sophia was our waitress at Applebee’s for our March 2016 anniversary, and what a special smile she shared! We got to know her & recognized her kind heart and the love for her son (children) and family. She served us again different times & occasionally we sent her a devotional. Our hearts and our sincere prayers are with her children & family. May the many memories of Sophia help you through this difficult time.

Sophia, where do I start ? We've countless memories, from slumber parties to shopping to skipping school to going on adventures. We've loved and we've laughed and we fought. Weve experienced lots of firsts together, and wonderful conversations. You are purely one of a kind, and irreplaceable. You're such a great person, loyal and trustworthy, and oh so goofy and ditzy. We shared that together too. You are very dear to my heart, one of my bestfriends. I'm heart broken and still feel this cant be real. I love you so much and I'm going to miss your beautiful face so much. It's never goodbye....I'll see you later❤ to the family, you all are in my prayers, I cannot even begin to imagine the pain and heartache you all must feel. I hope you all can find some comfort...much love. ❤
